Being a woman who has reached the menopausal stage of life, I have come to the realization that I am truly wise and more powerful than ever before!! This is a new beginning, a time of be-ing born again into the knowledge of my Wise Blood.

I may no longer have blood flowing forth from my Sacred Womb for now this Blood flows through my veins. This Blood that has the energy of life, death and rebirth. This Blood that has been used in ceremonial ritual in days of old. This Blood that now contains all of it’s knowledge, power and magic within me, to be directed and redirected throughout my entire physical, spiritual nature.

So many women complain about the changes in their bodies at this time, trying to keep the youth mentality, when now they are so much more able to enjoy the Wisdom of the Aged.

I am not pretty, for pretty is reserved for the maiden. I am a beautiful Wise Femi9 Woman with years of experiences coursing through me and I’m lovin’ it.

At first, I saw my menopause as something to welcome for all the wrong reasons, but that’s what happens when we are mis-educated and not taught to have knowledge of self. I had welcomed menopause as a time when I would no longer need to go to the store for sanitary napkins and other nonsensical reasons. How unenlightened was this thinking.

One hears so many unpleasant things about menopausal women, needless to say, I will not give those things any energy in this space. I will only rejoice and give thanks to the energy of The Triple Goddess, The Trinity of Body, Mind and Spirit, Maiden, Mother and Crone/The Dark Goddess. I will call her The Wise Femi9 Woman.

As a Wise Femi9 Woman, I have come to a stage in life, a stage of completion, a death of the old self and a rebirth of the new self. This is the time of my life where I will put to use all of the knowledge I have gained about being a woman.

Now I am a woman who has gained insight and developed many of her spiritual powers, the very gifts given by the Queen of Heaven. The energy of the High Priestess designated by the Spirit of Love, Truth, Peace, Freedom, Justice, Tolerance, Patience and Forgiveness.

Yes, this is a time to truly be all that I can be as a Wise Femi9 Woman, imparting knowledge to my Daughters (all young women) about the joys of being Femi9. Gracefully, joyously, I accept my present state of being.

Even sexual pleasure has become more intense because I know more about the magical energy of releasing my Sacred Womb Milk, the manifestation that can take place because of such a Sacred Act.

“With age comes wisdom. Respect your elders“. These were phrases I’d heard many times and now I have a deeper understanding into the meaning of these words.

The only reason why many Elders don’t get respect today is because they forgot the old ways, or did not want to pass on the wisdom of their Elders because it was considered taboo or evil and very unacceptable. Our present generations are in a state of flux,they feel let down, the ways of the Ancient Mothers must and will resurrect.

No matter what the media says about the change of life, using as many negative impressions as they possibly can. No matter what the doctor says, unless of course she is also a holistic practitioner, I will graciously be that magnificent woman that I am, in all my glory, a Wise Femi9 Woman.

There is no need for me to recapture my youth, for I am absolutely wonderful just the way I am. I accept all that I have learned and seek to do it even better.

I will continue to do my exercise, to keep my body toned and my mind alert. I will continue drink and eat to enhance my bodily functions, so that I will not need medication to mask or cover up anything that may be out of sync. And most of all, I will continue to love myself and then learn to love myself even more than before!

Having the Wise Blood coursing through my veins, is a welcome change of life.

Thank you Spirit of The Aged. Thank you for this gift of wisdom. Thank you for allowing me to become an Older Woman.

Do you hear them? The Ancestral Mothers are communicating with us on a daily basis.

As a young child, the women in my family would say “Something told me…” They never gave that something a name but they listened to the voice and heeded the message. My Mother always told me that the first thought is the correct thought. I follow that advice as much as possible but sometimes I slip up. I’m learning to listen better and better.

One of the things that I have been hearing the Ancestral Mothers say is that we, women, must reclaim all of who we are. We must understand and acknowledge the reason for being born in a female body this time around and that we must “remember the ancient ways and keep them sacred.” By denying our feminine aspects we do ourselves a great disservice. We are Virgin, Mother, Warrior, Matriarch and Crone.

To me, the Ancestral Mothers carry the same name, Ma. I recognize and honor Her many attributes. She is the Goddess of Ten Thousand Names. Some call Her Isis, others Mother Mary, still others call Her Kuan Yin or La Morenita. I see Ma in another way as well. I see Her as Kali Ma, Sekhmet, Hecate, and Oya. This is the aspect of Ma who destroys that which no longer serves our greater good. She is also healer, filled with compassion and love.

She is not always the quiet one and many fear Her for they do not understand Her ways. There is no reason to fear Her for She is one who will not go away. She like all the others is here to stay. She destroys the illusion in order to assist us on our journey to wholeness.

The Ancestral Mother speaks to me of the Womb Lodge where women must go to honor themselves. She speaks of children being born to Mothers that have not been taught how to be Mothers. Ma speaks of the Sisterhood of the Moon and the Sun. She talks about the rhythms and cycles to be honored, the rituals and ceremonies to be performed. She does not want us to forget who we are and the gifts that we as women bring to this world.

The voices of Sekhmet, Het Heru, Changing Woman, IxChel, Maeve, Sojourner Truth and the Libyan Amazons are speaking up . I hear the cries of the Priestesses who worshiped at the temples of the Goddess. Nandi, Hatshepsut, Queen Tiye and others commune with me to share ancient teachings that are relevant to women. I honor them.

The Voices of the Ancestral Mothers are strong in my heart. They speak of connecting to the earth, the Great Provider of us all in a manner that we have not done for far too long.

How often have I heard the voice of the Ancestral Mother say that the blood that flows from the womb of a woman is shed in a non violent manner and that it this Sacred Flow should be given back to the earth to bless the earth and All Her Relations? How often have I heard the cry for the wombs torn from the flesh of Her daughters? How often have I heard the cry of Ma when Her daughters breast are cut from their bodies? Or the trees being torn from the land without reverence or offering. The Four Leggeds and the Winged Ones are driven from their homes with no honor and many die from road kill. I have heard the cries all too often.

We must remember the ways of the Wise Women that came before us. We must honor those ways and keep them sacred. Much healing lies within that knowledge long forgotten and pushed aside in the name of a quick fix.

Be like the Sankofa bird that looks backward and flies forward never forgetting from whence it came. Look at the Ancestral Mothers, take that which is good and bring it forward.

Many of us admit to hearing the voice. The name attached is one that we have an affinity for. We hear the name, we accept it, we pass on the message that we receive. That is understandable. While we are doing that, let us remember that there are others who may hear different Ancestors due to culture or ethnicity. The tone of voice may not always be gentle. My Mother did not always speak in gentle tones. That’s real.

We are the blood of our Ancestors. We are connected to the Source of Life. We, who hear the passion in the Voices of the Ancestors are listening with a different ear. The message is the same, though it is delivered in a manner common to the culture. It’s still a message of healing and love but as we know sometimes love can be tough.

She married her second husband at the age of 80, and said, “Don’t be surprised if I raise a second family.” They had five wonderful years together! At 85 years of age, she married her third husband who was 79. They stayed married until passed at the age of 92.
